The weather actually
played its part throughout the 10 day shoot and only a few shoots had to be rescheduled.
The calendar girls were staying in a bungalow style setting and we ended up forming our
own little village at the KoHuna. Each night saw the troops assemble for a buffet style
dinner followed by a re-cap of the days shoots by watching the footage shot by the
video crew from Pacific Paradise Productions. Samantha Steele.
Midway through the week, it was time for the girls
to let their hair down. We had been invited for dinner at The Doors Nightclub in downtown
Mackay. It turned out to be a whopper of a night for all involved. It had everything
great food, some pool, lots of dancing and even more drinking. The calendar girls
worked hard to put a serious dent in their generous drink accounts and this might explain
why two of the models decided, on a whim, to take part in a competition called The
Little Black Dress.
I n the end, a sexy local lass walked away with the
main prize, well deserved we might add, but the Calendar Girls appearing on stage had
inspired a few of the local boys to try to impress the models. Nothing wrong with that,
apart from the fact that they thought that pulling down their pants would do the
trick
.
Needless to say it didnt, but it provided the models with more than a few laughs and
it did not in any way stop them form partying on into the wee hours of the following
morning.
It was poor Tabetha
Whitby who was on the roster to be
photographed the following day, but as the ultimate trooper she is, she came out looking
like a million and even the horse had a hard time taking its eyes off her as she was
boiling her Billy Tea by the Billabong.
The rest of the shoot went really well and we had the pleasure of visiting many
breathtakingly beautiful places in around Mackay. We would like to thank everyone involved
for the genuine friendliness and generosity we encountered wherever we went.
